ABC KC Q course from the WBSDs April 08

This is the course as best I can remember, Judged by Mark Laker.
IMO I thought was pitched about right for a 1-7

Won by Moria with her very fast Pointer, think it was 28 ? secs. . Very well done.

WBSDs agility show

WBSDs run an annual league for all the grades in agility. The presentation was held on Saturday night.

Cruz got 3rd in G 3 league table.

Cruz also got presented with the versatility award, brains as well as beauty.


Inca won G4 league, the trophy is huge and very heavy. This picture below is of the box which it came in.

Had a good journey to Newbury showground I managed to set up camp & the garden before dark on Friday. On Saturday my club was running a ring all day, our judge Ian Balchin had three agility classes to get through. We were making really good time till the timer started to play up, got that all sorted and was still one of the early rings to finish really good to get 442 dogs done and course changes then collapsed before 5 pm. My thanks goes to a great team, you know who you are.

Inca: 3 clear rounds and 15th place in G5 jumping
Cruz: 26th KC ABC Q. 10th G3 jumping + Best BSD in the class and 10th ABC jumping

all in all we had some really good runs and many if only.



What also made a really lovely weekend, is that I got to catch up with Dollar, Wilf and Quest. Its great to be jumped on with plenty of licks and kisses. Also at the show was some of Kane's family his sisters Ebby, Maia, Brother Aslan and mother Charcoal, must try harder to get family pictures.

Chi with his toy, it was his going away present when he left here. I put new toys in with the litter a couple of days before a pup is due to leave, they all play and sleep with the new toy then it goes with the pup to their new home to help them settle. Thanks Margaret for the pictures.

Update on Lily

We are just back from the New Forest. Lily had a fantastic time, rolling in deer poo, chasing the rabbits, watching the ponies. Most of these activities were first thing in the morning when I was still schmoosing and Dad and Dog were out early! I spent the week mostly washing the dog to remove whatever she had rolled in! I was a bit worried as dogs do go missing down there on these adventures, but she's too fond of her mum to go far! She specially enjoyed the snow... and swimming at Kimmeridge Bay.

Weekend: chilling, walking and Breed show

Saturday I took all the dogs to the woods for a long walk, sorry I forgot the camera, it looks lovely with all the blue bells coming up, I will try to get some pictures. We then had the afternoon chilling out. I blasted & brushed Cruz, he is finally coming back into coat. Meme! well she looks like she should be joining Grace with Kiah in the Mali ring, LOL
Sunday: Crystal Palace Breed show at Ardingly, we had a late start as GSDs, Groens and Malis were all in first. Thankfully the rings were undercover as the sky got darker and darker the thunder started and hail stones fell, this upset a few dogs as it was so loud on the metal roof.
Results: Cruz 1st PG, 2nd in open. Meme 3rd in junior, 2nd PG.

Crufts 2008: judges critique for Meme

SpJB (10,2) 2nd Jordan’s Zindelijk Lucky Me. 15 months old. Elegant grey bitch with good angulation front and rear. Nice head with dark eye, pigment and well defined mask. Moved with ease. Out of coat today.

My weekend (540 miles)

Saturday:
My friend David & Rusty's first agility championship class on 5th April held at Scunthorpe. The day started off when Grace, Kiah, David, Rusty and Tia arrived here at my house at 2:45 am to set off to the show, 7 BSDs were settled into one van, van sharing is not only great for the company but it helps a great deal with the increasing cost of fuel . The dogs slept soundly whilst we chatted our long journey away, dark night skies became light as we were nearing our destination, we arrived at 7:30am, walked the dogs then walk all our courses. Dave and Rusty sadly had a pole in champ jumping and a missed weave entry in champ agility, the class was won by David Munnings with AG CH Gunrun Mistree. David & Rusty won the Crufts singles qualifier and 3rd in G7 agility.
My three all worked really well coming away with a few places. After the show we took David & Rusty to a local train station as there were going back home, Grace and I were off to The BSDA Breed and obedience show the next day in Leicester, staying in Lincoln for the night with Jan Ralph at the Bonvivant kennels, thanks Jan for another fabulous hot dinner, very yummy and much appreciated after a very cold long day. We watched TV and chatted whist the open fire crackled to red embers, we retired to bed finally about half past midnight, alarms were set to go off at 6am :-(
Sunday:
Whoops! overslept 6:30 am get up, take the dogs out for a quick walk, give them breakfast and set off for the Breed show by 7:15am (not bad). Traveling inland we went through villages that had been turned white by the snow, thinking we were lucky not to had any at Jan's.
We arrived at the show by 8:45 am and guess what? a few inches of snow covered the car park and surrounding fields........(photos to follow).
The downside of this was the obedience was held outside :-( the organisers brushed the snow aside for a few pathways till the grass could be seen for the rounds, we did have snow again it was like being in one of them snow globes LOL Yes it did start to thaw and get very slippery as I found out on an executing one about turn hehe.......
Results for Breed: Cruz won post grad, I withdrew Meme due to blowing her coat on Thursday (that was like another snow storm).
Obedience: Kane got 2nd in Beg and 5th in novice . Inca got 4th in beg and 4th in novice. We set of for the rest of our journey home coming through many snow storms, the motorways were slow in places, we arrived here at 7:15pm poor Grace had another 50 minutes to go, I'll let her tell you her results on her blog page.
