Vyne today

I'm soooooooo pleased Kane has qualified the ABC semi today at Vyne, Inca got 16th in G6 jumping and little Meme got 7th in G3 agility. Bless her she was really funny in the ABC agility the tunnel was under the A frame, (going from the right side on the approach, to exiting on the left the down side of the A frame) you could either push them away from you or front cross before to pull them into the tunnel which is what I did, I crossed back to the other side as she went into the tunnel and we lost each other. lol. The A frame blocked her view as to where I was as she turned right when she came out going across the front of the A frame, but I was waiting to collect on the left, apparently she stood on her hind legs like a mear cat looking for me. We joined up with her going all the way around the A frame to finish clear put out of placings. hehe. Must sign off now and finish packing for tomorrow.

Whoops not updated for a while.

Kane & I are now going to Prague to compete at the Belgian Shepherd World Champs next week. This is the first year the organisers have allowed a reserve dog and handler to be entered, sadly one of the squad members dog has an injury and has had to be withdrawn which has put us in. I have been running around like a headless chicken, doing paper work, sorting out the other dogs washing, packing, shopping, I think I'm almost done. You take so much for granted when you have all you need in your van, then you have to think what you need for your dog and yourself at at a show 750 miles away?

I really enjoy the courses abroad they seem to flow but challenge your partnership, without turning the dog inside out on multi pull through's. I also like the wider weave spacing for these large dogs.
Other good news was the show at Wallingford, Inca has qualified the ABC semi final which is held at Tatton Park, we got a 3rd place in the class out of 305 dogs.
I have the last attempt at getting another in this weekend at Vyne, again a large class. The weather seems to be looking like its going to be kind to us for a change.

Meme gets a trophy. :-)

On Saturday the weather was not great, the ground was very wet and a little slippery in the morning, I walked the grade 3 jumping at the Easter celebration show, the course was very nice, you could let the brakes off but still needed to handle it.
I had a fairly early run in here, I watched a few run while I was queueing and noticed the weave entry was a challenge if not handled. The jump before the weaves I collected her slightly before asking her to weave.... Wow I thought she just powered away from me as if to say yes I know leave me alone, I can see them whoo! before I knew it she was sailing over the last jump, I thought to myself that felt like a good run.
Meme came 3rd we received a lovely glass trophy and a rosette and a yummy Easter egg.
What a clever girl :-)

A good weekend at the Spring @ Shuttleworth show

This is Inca's first season in Grade 6, my timing is a little out with him as he has found yet another gear, he worked really well all weekend, coming home with 4th in 1-7 BSD jumping and a clear round with best unplaced BSD in G6 jumping.
Cruz was a very good boy he went on all his dog walks without being silly, even in a class that loads of dogs where being funny about the up plank. His results 3rd in ABC 1-7 Helter-skelter, 6th in special BSD 1-7 jumping, 4th in ABC agility. Thanks Jan Ralph for the picture.

Meme was a little star, her results from the weekend

5th G3 agility out of 251 dogs

23rd G3 jumping out of 263 dogs

4th 1-7 ABC Helter-skelter out of 236 dogs

10th 1-7 BSD jumping

15th 1-7 ABC agility

Really pleased with how Kane is running, on Saturday we got a 7th in G6 agility, on Sunday we won the special 1-7 BSD jumping.

Thank you Burns.
